POSTPONED: Hardy’s Murder Trial by Jury Begins

Oct. 15

We received an email from Galveston DA this afternoon that Shaun P. Hardy’s murder trial is indefinitely postponed because they are appealing last week’s ruling on defense motions to suppress two custodial confessions and invalidate search warrant that led to the discovery of Anne-Christine’s body. Judge Grady on Friday denied two motions but granted one, which means the confession he made at a police station is not admissible in a court of law. The DA is appealing the judge’s decision to Texas Fourteenth Court of Appeals. This process could take up to a year. It is not appropriate for us to comment on legal proceedings, but Molly’s comments speak for me as well, as does MLK’s famous quote that the moral arc of the universe is long, but it bends towards justice. It’s going to be a very long slog and I can’t thank everyone enough for giving us the strength to stand by the right.
