LEAGUE CITY, Texas – An active search for a young League City woman got underway Thursday morning. Anne-Christine Johnson, 30, was last seen a week ago on Thursday, Dec. 8.

Johnson’s boss at the League City bar said she worked there part-time and called in sick last Wednesday.

Family members say she was supposed to meet her father for dinner but didn’t show up. She posted a photo online of herself that day at 4:27 p.m. but hasn’t been seen on social media since.

Family and friends became concerned when Johnson didn’t report to work the next day. They say it’s out of character for her because she always checks in with friends and family.

“I’ve been slowly sinking into hell since then,” said her mother, Stephanie Johnson. “It’s extremely uncharacteristic of my daughter. She has two small children one of whom is autistic and requires all kinds of extra care so she would never disappear like this.”

Police say Johnson posted on social media that night, but beyond that, her ex-husband was the last person to see her earlier that day.

“There are many detectives involved in this right now. They did speak with him. There is nothing there to suggest any foul play. He’s been very cooperative with the investigation including letting officers into his house,” said Detective Austin Frakes with the League City Police Department.

It’s the home where Johnson lived off and on, and where detectives say the ex-husband reported seeing Johnson get into a white sedan with an unknown man.

On Thursday morning, EquuSearch began canvasing a rural area off of 517 in League City. It’s a field next to the city’s water reclamation facility on S. Maple Leaf Drive.

For the past week, Anne-Christine’s phone goes right to voicemail, her mother can’t help but think the worst at times.

“She’s dead. Otherwise, EquuSearch would not be on the ground. We want to rule everything out as quickly as possible in case she is alive or needs help.”

Johnson is about 5’2 and 110 pounds. She was last seen with blonde hair but also wears it red and brown. She has green eyes and may be wearing a coat and pink scarf.

It’s possible Johnson may be in a white sedan with a male companion, according to League City police.

A Facebook page was set up to help find her. The page describes Johnson as a mother, daughter, sister and granddaughter.

Anyone with information about Anne’s whereabouts is asked to contact the League City Police Department at 281-332-2566.
